Program Description

Event Details

This summer, we are kicking off Brookfield Library's first Youth Open Mic Night! We'll be featuring writers whose work was recently published in Masquerade, Brookfield High's literary magazine.

After our featured readers, any attendees in grades 6 - 12 are welcome to sign-up for the open mic and perform. Musicians, poets, writers, comedians, and more are all encouraged. This is a night to show off your talent and creativity!

Microphone, speakers, and plug-in outlets will be provided, but otherwise performers will be expected to bring their own equipment, which they must set up and take apart themselves. We ask that your limit your performance to 5 minutes or less, to leave time for every participant to have a chance. We also ask that there be only one performance per person/group. Performances will be done in a first come, first serve order until 8 PM.

All ages are welcome to come and watch! There will be free light refreshments, and copies of Masquerade will be available to purchase.

Please note: registering to attend this event is not signing up to perform. Open Mic sign-ups will only happen when the event begins on July 13th at 6 PM. Performers must be present when signing up and cannot "hold" a space ahead of time.
