Author and University of South Carolina legal scholar Marcia A. Zug presents on the subject of why couples marry.  As Zug writes, "Marrying for love was risky, and for centuries, many Americans believed marrying for the legal, social, and economic benefits attached to marriage was a safer bet."  Professor Zug will explore this theme through illuminating stories of various reasons - other than deep mutual affection - couples entered matrimony.
