Event Details

"How does someone go from a baseball and God loving child in Connecticut, to 10 years of drug and alcohol addiction?" asks local author Jonathan Mendonca.  The fascinating and inspiring story of his journey through addiction and recovery is the subject of his best-selling book Life on Life's Terms which he will be discussing on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:30 pm.  Jonathan will also be signing copies of his book at the event,

In addition, a representative from Brookfield Cares will be on hand to provide Narcan training as well as Narcan samples.  Now more than ever, individuals are encouraged to prepare themselves with the training and confidence they need to respond quickly in an overdose situation. This workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in an opioid overdose emergency.

Tonight's presentation is brought to you by The Brookfield Library and Brookfield Cares.  Brookfield Cares is a non-profit volunteer community based organization dedicated to creating awareness and positive change around the issues of substance misuse, depression, suicide, and other mental health concerns. They do this by engaging with all members of the community to reduce harmful behaviors, destigmatize mental health issues, and promote and support healthy choices.
