The American Job Center will be bringing its mobile Career Coach to the library for this workshop.

The Career Coach makes weekly visits to cities and towns in CT in coordination with community organizations. When you step aboard the Career Coach, you are greeted by expert staff and seated at one of ten (10) computer workstations. Come aboard and use our high speed Internet access, and print resources at no cost to you!

Polish Your Basic Computer Skills In A Friendly & Empowering Environment!  

  • Learn basic computer terminology & concepts such as: what is hardware, what is software, what is a server, what is a modem? You hear these words thrown around a lot, do you know what they really mean? 
  • Are you familiar with all the functions of your mouse? What is the difference between right click and left click. Do you know how to scroll? 
  • Let’s look at the keyboard and investigate the function of all the keys! Learn how to make your life easier when you’re navigating your computer and the web 
  • How does the internet work? What really is “the cloud?” 
  • Learn all about a free website where you can work on your typing skills, mousing skills and more!
