Event Details
Every month we will alternate between science fiction and fantasy.
This month we are reading Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark
"In 1915, The Birth of a Nation cast a spell across America, swelling the Klan's ranks and drinking deep from the darkest thoughts of white folk. All across the nation they ride, spreading fear and violence among the vulnerable. They plan to bring Hell to Earth. But even Ku Kluxes can die.
Standing in their way is Maryse Boudreaux and her fellow resistance fighters, a foul-mouthed sharpshooter and a Harlem Hellfighter. Armed with blade, bullet, and bomb, they hunt their hunters and send the Klan's demons straight to Hell. But something awful's brewing in Macon, and the war on Hell is about to heat up.
Can Maryse stop the Klan before it ends the world?"

New Guidelines on Program Attendance
We understand that sometimes, unexpected instances can occur that may prevent you from attending a program that you registered for. If you find that you are unable to attend an event, please give us a call, email us, or cancel your registration online. This will afford others who would like to attend, the opportunity to participate.
Unfortunately, absences without prior notification and extreme tardiness have been hindering library staff from carrying out programs to the best of our abilities. Even more importantly, these disruptive behaviors are undermining the positive experiences of other participants. The Library's Patron Behavior Policy explicitly states that behavior that “interferes with the enjoyment of the library by other individuals” can result in adverse consequences.
Therefore, we feel it’s important to announce our new guidelines for program attendance. Beginning on July 1st, any registrant for an adult program who is a “no-show” and/or is more than 15 minutes late for two events will subsequently be moved to the waitlist for the next program they register for.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping make our library programs pleasurable and meaningful for all.
